Welcome

I have worked in school, hospital, university, and clinic environments for the past 30 years. I maintain American Speech and Hearing Association Accreditation, Tennessee State Licensure, and all continuing education requirements. I have extensive training in diagnosis and treatment of Childhood Apraxia of Speech. I am certified in Pediatric Neurodevelopmental Treatment. This allows me to work well with physical and occupational therapists and to understand and address how the positioning of the body affects speech and learning. I am certified in PROMPT therapy which involves use of touch cueing to the mouth and face to facilitate speech sound production.

I am certified in Interactive Metronome which is a program that is effective in increasing overall processing speed in the brain which can have a very positive effect on speech, language, reading, and motor skills. I am certified in Sequenced Oral Sensory Therapy which addresses feeding issues in children.

My specialization areas are diagnostics, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, working with children with high functioning autism spectrum disorders, language development, and articulation disorders.

It is very important to me to have a fun and supportive relationship with my patients and to look at the whole child as I evaluate, plan and treat. It is equally important to listen to and support their parents.
